Friday's test tomorrow
Today all the grade 4 and 5 students from our school went to the Public Works Yard for a field trip. We saw concrete, carpentry, street engineering, roads operations, fabrication, street cleaning, solid waste systems, the mechanic shop, waterworks, electronics and automation, traffic signals, building services, the sign and paint shop and all the rest of the city support services. Our class was treated to a hot dog, fruit, chocolate milk and cookie and one lucky student and parent go to go up in the cherry picker. We left at 930 after reading and returned at 1:00 read for 30 minutes, worked on a design for next year's Public Works tee-shirt designs based on what we saw and heard today. Students were then given time to work on their Provincial reports. We ended the day with a game of Simon Says.
