Friday Update May 6

Non-rugby students working hard on their project.

Friday began as all Friday with our weekly test. The test was marked but not handed back as I did not get time to record the marks as many in the class were leaving for a rugby tournament after recess. After the test we worked on our mothers day project until recess.

On the test: Looking at a picture
58% of the students recognised Jack Layton correctly
46% of the students recognised Michael Ignatieff correctly
46% of the students recognised Stephen Harper correctly
38% of the students recognised John F. Kennedy correctly

After recess, those students remaining marked the tests. I used marking the test to review the math concepts. After that we worked more on our Mothers day projects.

After lunch we had a buddy activity where we helped our buddy class finish their Mothers day projects. As well Mrs. Dagg liked one of the things we did so had the grade 4's help their little buddies write something similar for their mom. After Buddies Mrs. Whithers took the class to the library to work on a cartooning program while I had a meeting with the principal and the head of technology support for the district about how to facilitate blogs for all the teachers in the school. After computers there was only 20 min until the end of the Day so we cleaned the class and put the final touches on the Mothers day project.

Happy mothers day. We did not have as much time to work on these projects as I would have liked as we usually have more time in May to work on them. But your gift represents your child on many levels and I think you already have some idea of who they are as people already.
