Keep 'Love of Reading" and chocolate items coming in for our class basket for the spring fair.

I got back to school to a pile of get well cards made by the students and a warm welcome. The great cards are now filling our blank bulletin board in the hall which used to be full of our mothers day pictures. It is so nice to be back to work enjoying your children for the 30 days of school left before summer break before they are all yours to enjoy.

As usual we began the week with the spelling pre-test.

This weeks Spelling words
kids kitchen knew know newspaper nineteen nobody noise nothing number ocean o'clock off orange others own owned owner (Bonus words: province picnic)

The students then wrote a description of the word then either A) drew a picture of it or B) used the word in a sentence.

After recess we had the opportunity to do a painting workshop through artsREACH a program created to ensure that all children have access to high quality visual and performing arts training.

After lunch those students not in choir listened to the music by Cree songwriter, performer, artist and Visionary Ed Peekeekoot. Ed performed at the school two years ago. We featured the CD "In the Key of Cree." The students completed a one page report on Ed.

After Choir and music appreciation we continued to work on division in math and had time to work on the provincial project. After math the students had Music with Mrs. Awalt.
