Wonderful Words and Crickets

This morning students practiced handwriting and started their Wonderful Words booklet. Today’s assignment was to make as many words as they could using the letters in INSPIRTATION. Students were very excited about Wonderful Words and some found more than 40 words :-).
In Math, students finished p. 143 (graphing practice). Early finishers played math games (cards, dice games, checkers, chess, or brain teasers) and unfinished work is for homework.
How does a cricket tell us the temperature? In Science we found out (courtesy of a cricket on utube).
1.       Count the number of chirps in 15 seconds = ________
2.       _____ divided by 2 = __________
3.       + 6 = _____ degrees Celsius
They also started weather pictures to submit to the Times Colonist newspaper. Every day a student’s weather picture is printed in the weather section. Hopefully some of our students’ pictures will be chosen.
In Reading, students read an article with a partner and answered questions.
Mr. W is teaching for a short while this afternoon until early dismissal at 1:45.
Hope to see you at the parent/teacher interviews.

Please look at the pink Comfort Kit notice that went home in a ziplock bag and create a comfort kit for your child. We are collecting them this week.
