Spelling, FSA, Percussion, buddies and Free time

E, S and B each dictate a different spelling list
J works on his Writing Compare and Contrast In the FSA booklet

Friday we began with our regular spelling test.  After spelling we spent the rest of the time until recess doing a compare and contrast write for the FSA provincial testing.  The students had to compare a list of Bear camping suggestions and regulations to a story of some children who come across a bear.  The task was to answer whether the authors of the bear regulations would have liked the way the children responded when they came across the bear.  They had to add information from both stories to support their answers.

After Recess we had that great treat of an assembly dedicated to the percussion performance which included many of the after school PISE program.  The students in our class joined with the other students in a performance in front of the whole school.

J, M, A and S reading and doing math with our buddies
In the afternoon we had buddies followed by desk clean and some free time.  It is always interesting to see the kinds of things that the students do when they have time to themselves.  Some make masks, write things out in Elf language, or make mini garbage cans out of garbage.  You just never know what the amazing students in our class get up to given time to be creative on their own.  We ended the day with a roaring game of Slimers Island with Mrs. Carlton's grade 3 class.

A & E had fun writing in Elf script
