Buffalo Diarama, 1.5 hours of FSA Math, Music and P.E.

We began the day with our usual Calvin and Hobbes comic... very funny and was an opportunity to introduce new vocabulary; welling up and  gullible.  I assigned a three dimensional diorama like project to go along with the buffalo project they are working on.  I gave time yesterday, today and they will have one more period to finish the whole project.  They worked hard, focused well and did an amazingly creative job.  We will post the projects and the diorama projects on the bulletin board by the office next week. Do drop by and see them.

After recess we prepared for and then did the long FSA math section on the computer.  The test took the students between 30 min and 60 minutes.  When they finished the computer component they either read or worked on their buffalo projects.  It was a tricky and challenging test but, from what I could see, our students might have done very well as they seemed to understand the questions.  Many of the questions are more about can you understand the question than doing the math involved.

After lunch we read a little, had more time to work on the project, then went off to music to work on the recorder.  We finished the day off with a class cleanup then went to the gym to challenge Mrs. Carlton's class.

Great job everyone... see you all tomorrow
