Between recess and lunch we watched a video on elections in Canada, then the students created four political parties by selecting four possible class Prime Ministers. The four possible leaders selected two or three other students to work with them to come up with a platform on the following issues: What to do between recess and lunch for group time/ class money/ unemployment (many students want regular jobs in the class) / Plan P.E. for Friday / health care (we only have plain band-aids some are calling for Sponge Bob band-aids) / Seating plan for the class for the rest of the week / Environment (how to keep the class clean and green) / homework /
While the Four political parties prepared their speech on the issues the rest of the class worked on a one page report on who is eligible to vote in Canada and answered the question "Is it important to Vote; Why or Why not.
After lunch the students not in choir listened to and did a one page report on The Man in Black, Johnny Cash. After Choir we listened to the promises of our class four political parties on the class issues then the students went to music with Mrs. Awalt.
