Self-Evaulations and Monet

Filling out a self-evaulation
This morning students filled out a self-evaluation on their work habits, learning, and interests at school. This page will go home with their report cards on Thursday. The students’ answers are thoughtful and perceptive :-)  Please check them out when your child's report card comes home.
Notes and summary about Claude Monet's life

Notes and summary on Claude Monet's life. Students could add a border and picture if they chose to but it was not required.
In Math, students practiced estimating answers to the nearest hundred and adding multiple digits together.
After recess students used their notes on Claude Monet to write a summary of his life in their own words, focusing on an interesting topic sentence, supporting details, and a strong concluding sentence. Students worked really hard on these and exceeded their own expectations of what they are capable of. Next week we’ll proofread and self-edit them, as well as start a Monet-inspired piece of art.
It took some students until lunch time to finish their summaries. The other students worked on unfinished work (Artist of the Month title pages, math, etc) when then finished so that they wouldn’t have homework.
Mr. W is teaching them this afternoon.
