Mr. Wilson was away this afternoon and I taught the class for the whole day.
Students wrote their Spelling Pre-Test this morning, followed by graphing practice in math. After recess students finished their Weather vs Climate comparison chart. They learned that weather changes every day but climate is the conditions we expect at a specific time of year. (In Victoria we expect rainy springs; warm, sunny, and dry summers, etc.)

Students completed a reading exercise and answered questions, then I read aloud from Shipwreck while students finished work (title page, math, fall trees art from 2 weeks ago, etc). We are almost finished this exciting novel. The boat has just sunk and the kids are stranded in the middle of the ocean, clinging to a life boat except there isn’t enough room in the boat for all 4 kids so they are taking turns dangling off the sides, hoping they won’t become shark bait. Riveting and suspenseful!
After lunch students silent read until Music. We came back and started a Science experiment on how clouds are formed. We were interrupted by a planned fire drill, then finished Science when we returned. Ask your child what we did for the experiment and how we made a cloud in a bag.
Congratulations to the class on reaching 100 nights of reading already. Keep reading at home and let’s make it to 1000 nights of reading this school year J
